“Gone Home” is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this holiday season
By Greg TitoThe long-awaited next entry in the beloved “The Last of Us” series is finally on its way.
The game, which is a follow-up to the 2015 game, is set to arrive this holiday on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, according to GameSpot’s own Matt Coleman.
Coleman confirmed the news on Twitter, stating that the game will be coming to both the PS4 Pro and Xbox X in 2018.
That’s a pretty huge jump for a game coming out on the console in 2020, but it’s also an interesting one for a sequel coming to a console that’s been largely stuck in the past decade.
The last of us launched in 2020 on PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox 360 Pro.
Coleman said he had no idea if the game would be coming on Xbox One or PC, but he did say that it “won’t be backwards compatible.”
Coleman also said that the studio had worked with Sony on the game, but that it was only for a short period of time before the two companies parted ways.
Colemans tweets make clear that the developers were hoping for a long-term partnership, but they’re going to have to wait and see if they can land on PSX or Xbox One.
The Last Of Us: The Official Artbook will be available to pre-order for $19.99.
It’s also coming to Steam for $9.99 in the United States and Canada.
