What’s the best way to stay safe during the holiday season?
If you’re planning to travel during the Christmas and New Year period, be prepared for a range of risks.
The first major holiday season is coming and with it, an onslaught of travel-related accidents, including one at a hotel in Australia.
On Monday night, two passengers suffered serious injuries when their vehicle was hit by a truck at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
One passenger, a 24-year-old man, suffered severe head and neck injuries and was later transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Royal Melbourne Hospital said he was in a stable condition.
She said it was not clear what caused the crash but the incident was not believed to be road-related.
The Royal Brisbane Hospital said it had been notified of the accident and that there were two male and two female patients on board the bus, who were transported to hospital.
“A female passenger suffered minor injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital,” a statement from the hospital said.
“Two male passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries, but are stable and in a secure setting.”
All four patients are in stable condition and have since been discharged.
