How to keep children safe during flood conditions
Italia Football Italy – Football Italian, the official football association of the Italian national team, has issued a flood warning to residents of its coastal region of Umbria, where the coastal region was devastated by the storm.
It was initially reported that the risk of flooding had passed as of 1pm local time (15:00 GMT) on Friday but this has since been revised to 1:00pm (03:00 BST).
A statement issued by the Italian Football Federation on Friday evening said: “The flood warning was issued on Friday morning for Umbria with the possibility of flooding in the coastal regions.
The risk of flood is high and we are advising people to take action to avoid any possible risks.
The Umbria coast is facing a very serious risk from the storm, the statement added.
Italy has received an unprecedented amount of rainfall, with some towns and cities receiving as much as 3 metres of rain in just 24 hours.
It comes as Italy is preparing for an unprecedented surge in rainfall that could hit parts of the country and parts of Italy.
