Federal Trade Commission Enforcement Alerts Travel Alerts in the US for May 28 and 29

The following states and territories will be on alert: ALASKA, ARIZONA, BAKERSFIELD, BERKELEY, CHICAGO, COLUMBIA, DENVER, FLORIDA, GUAM, HAWAII, IDAHO, IOWA, KANSAS, LOUISIANA, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSISSIPPI, NEBRASKA.
Travel advisories for New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, D.C. and Maryland will also be in effect on May 28.
Travel alerts for Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U-S.
Virgin Islands, US territories, Guam and U.K. will be in place until May 30.
The Federal Trade commissions are required to issue a travel advisory for any states and/or territories.
A federal travel advisory is issued when a federal agency believes a specific threat exists to the public safety and welfare.
The agency then conducts a thorough investigation and conducts public hearings to determine the actual risk to the population.
